Throw Ins - See Law 15 for details
Both feet on the floor, both hands behind your head, throw it. Repeat this on every throw in and they'll get it. Choose a line on the field and form a single file line of players. Choose the first thrower and put him on or behind the closest sideline. Have the first player in line run toward the thrower to receive the ball. Both feet on the floor, ball behind your head, throw it. The thrower runs to the back of the line and the receiver becomes the thrower. Repeat the drill twice in every practice then move on to the next drill. Keep it flowing.
A few things to remember The ball must cross the line 100% or it is still in play Throw is awarded to the opponent of the last player to make contact with the ball (Not always the kicker) Both feet must be on the ground upon release Ball must be thrown (not dropped or spiked) with both hands from behind the head You must not interfere with the thrower allowing 6' clearance (this ain't basketball) Can Not score a goal directly from a throw in (Depending on which goal, would be a Goal Kick or Corner Kick) Thrower can not touch the ball again until another player touchs it Goalie can not use hands receive ball directly from throw in NO Offsides on Throw-In Improper throw is retaken by opposing team If ball does not enter the field of play, it is retaken by same team Last but not least, a Throw - In is nothing more than a method of restarting play without delaying the game. It should be done quickly and it does more harm than good to the game flow to get all whacked out at which team gets the throw ... who cares!!!! Remember, there's usually a cluster of feet that the balls ricocheting off like a pinball machine and statistically, Spectators see the right call 43%, Coach's 69% and Referee's 96.734%. Let's just play ball
